| 197 | Allegedly, Clara was adopted at the age of 4, and that she was born in Souris Manitoba. There is no birth record for her under Arnold, Sawyer, or Simpson. We have been told that her birth parents were John Sawyer and Myra Arnold, however, there are no documents that have been found for them. I came across a 1891 census record for a Clara A.M Sawyer born in 1885 who's parents were John & Maria. It shows Clara was born in the Northwest Territories. The province of Saskatchewan was created in 1905. Prior to that, it was part of the Northwest Territories. Clara on the census had 3 sisters. Following the lineage of the youngest sister, I hit a DNA match. Following that lead, you will see that her biological grandfather (Levi) moved to Crookston Minnesota from the Northwest Territories. Too many coincidences not to believe that Clara would have met her biological grandparents. She would have been at least 9 when she was adopted. | Sawyer-Simpson, Clara Arnold Maria #056 (I56)
